Yes! If there is bad wiring in your house, you call an electrician. If your car isn’t running right, you take it to a mechanic.
Don’t treat your house or your car better than you treat your own daily desire to be happy.
Life is too short. And your quality of life is too important to not invest in it!
Great therapy is often a short-term investment that will pay huge dividends for the rest of your life.
If you are not happy with how things are going in your daily life, finding a skilled therapist can be one of the best choices you ever make!
Clients develop their ability to be aware of how their thoughts and their behaviors are shaping how they feel. They are able to identify negative or distorted thoughts and couple them with additional thoughts that may be more accurate and more helpful. And they are able to reduce behaviors that leave them feeling sad or anxious, replacing them with behaviors that allow them to feel happy and hopeful.
At the end of therapy, clients feel happier, healthier, and more confident, allowing them to enjoy more meaning and fulfillment in their daily lives!
I do not accept insurance. However, I am able to provide a Superbill which you may be able to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network claims.

Great question. This depends on the individual and their history, current stressors, needs, and goals for counseling. Most clients begin seeing progress toward their goals in just a few sessions and complete therapy in 6-20 sessions. Some clients choose to continue weekly or monthly sessions indefinitely because they continue to find it such a valuable support in their desire to live a meaningful, fulfilling life.
Most clients meet weekly in the beginning, eventually scaling back to every 2-4 weeks until they are ready to discontinue counseling.
Some clients may benefit from sessions twice/week in the first couple of weeks before scaling back to weekly sessions.
Clients may also meet every other week in the beginning, though this is not usually ideal for the therapeutic process.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a highly effective, evidence-based approach to mental health treatment. It focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The core idea is that how we feel – whether that be happy, sad, anxious, guilty, etc. – is a product of how we think (cognitive) and how we behave (behavioral).
If we want to change how we feel, we do so by changing our negative or unhelpful thought patterns and/or we do so by changing our behaviors. Rather than waiting to feel better so that we start thinking more positively, and rather than waiting to feel better before we act, it is in retraining our thinking patterns and practicing helpful behaviors that we begin to feel better.
In CBT, we’ll work together to:

I regularly work with both married and unmarried couples.
Whether your relationship is in crisis, or you are a happy couple just looking to strengthen your relationship, or anywhere in between, couples counseling is a space to explore work through current difficulties and become more equipped to navigate future challenges in an effective way.
Yes, I use a secure HIPAA compliant platform for clients who wish to meet remotely. Research has shown telehealth therapy to be just as effective as in-person therapy, though it may not be the most ideal option in some circumstances.
It is not necessary, but you may wish to bring a notebook and pen if you find it helpful to be able to write things down from the session that you don’t want to forget.
